Investigation And Analysis Of Suanling Villagers' Values Vicissitudes

As known to us, at present the largest problem in China lies in the vast countryside. In fact the village problem is matter of agriculture and farmers. So the problem of "peasant, agriculture and village" becomes the most important work for our government at present. Many Chinese governmental officials and scholars are thinking about how to solve this problem. They proposed many ways to solve this problem from the theory and practice. There is not only homogeneity but also heterogeneity in the millions of villages spreading the whole country in China. Many scholars enter the villages to study the problems of countryside and farmers from view of demonstration. Academe has many studies of village regulation, economy, clan, religion faith, customs and folk-customs in Chinese countryside at present. But there are few studies of villagers' values. According to Marx's dialectical principle of substance and consciousness, that is, substance decides consciousness and consciousness reflects substance actively, we all know that villagers' values belongs to conscious category. The vicissitudes of villagers' values reflects the development of village. We can make out the course of village development from vicissitudes of villagers' values. We can find out some regular patterns. We can provide some train of thoughts for studying Chinese "peasant, agriculture and village" problems. We do some theoretical and practical exploration for solving the problems of villages and peasants in China. This research is exactly based on the aboved, so I decided to choose Suanling village in Xincuo town of Fuqing city as a case. According to the existing documents and materials, using field and case interview studies Suanling villagers' values. Understanding the course of village development relies on the description of values vicissitudes in soil, social way of life, bearing, clan and relations between villagers and overseas Chinese, which has happened under the system of socialism since 50 years. Through the research and analysis of Suanling village case, the research tries to provide some train of thoughts for the development of the homogeneous coastal villages even for the millions of villages spreading the whole country in China. According to the investigation and analysis of villagers' values vicissitudes, penman realize that villagers' values vicissitudes which belongs to conscious category reflects the village changes and development. The state system and realistic power in village which dominant the villagers' values vicissitudes are also two forces that dominant the development of villages. Therefore, when we investigate the changes of politics, economies and values in Chinese villages, we neither ignore the traditional and spontaneous factors nor ignore the factors which the central government introducts from top to bottom. If the latter can't answer for the former, the policy will be failed. But the former can't legalize and institutionalize without the latter. In order to promote the development of villages, we must let these villages choose the most suitable developmental road for themselves with the correct guide by the national policies and combining the realistic forces of villages. This developmental pattern of villages is suitable for not only Suanling village which I have studied but also the coastal villages which are similar with Suanling village. At the same time, it's also suitable for the millions of villages spreading the whole country in China.
