| The dissertation investigates particularly in and gets some enlightenment for our country. The frame between nations of comparative education and the method of structure analysis in sociology of education were used. Four chapters are included in the dissertation. The first chapter analyses the outline of multicultural education in America. The second chapter looks backwards the history of it for finding its evolution. The third chapter mostly anatomizes the status quo of multicultural education in America from the aspects of object, main body, content, mode, methods and so on. After we have a basal understanding about multicultural education in America, the dissertation summarizes the achievements and defects of it and gives some advice to our country.
