A New Era, The Return Of Sports Recreational Value In China

In the 21th century, China has come into a new era of developing full-scale Xiaokang society. Along with the raise of social productivity, the Chinese people's needs of hierarchy are advanceing, and especially the needs of enjoyness and development which are increseing rapidly. The pursuit of hapiness becomes the primary objective of the development of the society. As the organic part of social systeme, sport should also be a factor to improve Chinese people's life quality, to that means making the best of recreational value is an effective method to accomplish this task. But during the development of modern sport in China, because of some special historical reasons, the receational value was ignored and has been lacking. So in the new era, the study and the application of sports recreational functions not only becomes a consequentially trend, but also makes important sense.Based on the analysis of sports recreation value, this essay reveals the recreational characteristic of Chinese traditional sport, and explains the reason of the absence of Chinese sports recreational value after the 20th century. Furthermore, according to the characteristic of the new era in China, this essay clarifies the inevitability and the social value of the return of sports recreational value. At last, to adress the current concrete problem of the lack of recreation in Chinese sport, author gives feasible countermeasures from two aspects : one of which is construction of sports recreation theory while the other is the improvement of the practice system.
