Analysis Of The Relationship Between Online Game Addiction And Juvenile Crime

Online game is a new industry which developed with the popularity of the Internet. Nowadays the online games industry are in the form of constantly enrich and their scale are constantly expanding, at the same time, a series of social issues triggered by the online games are also increasingly explicit, especially some network damage on the youth groups caused by online game addiction is causing widespread concern in society. The reports about juvenile delinquency triggered by playing online games are not uncommon any more. So, what's the true relationship between the online games and the juvenile delinquency, could online game addiction lead to juvenile delinquency, and if it is true , then how does it work? I hope to find the answer through this study.At present, the scholars from home and abroad have already done lots of research on online game addiction damage to teenagers from the psychology, sociology, pedagogy discipline respectively and have obtained some achievements. But I haven't seen any one use criminology to explain this problem. This study will use social control theory, trying to figure out the relationship between online game addiction and juvenile delinquency.This study hypothesis online game addiction has some relationship with juvenile crime, which will weaken their social contact and self-control ability. Through theoretical analysis and empirical studies, this studyproved the seal of the above assumptions.
