A Study On Women's Movement Thought Of Deng Yingchao At The Democratic Revolution Period

Deng Yingchao is not only one of the old generational proletarian revolutionaries but also a pioneer in the women's movement. She has contributed all her lifetime for the revolution and construction of China and the Chinese Women's movement. She has won the people's boundless respect and admiration for her distinguished political quality, her outstanding leadership talent and her selfless dedication spirit. At the democratic revolution period, Deng Yingchao has made a remarkable history contribution at the organically combination on the women's liberation and national liberation. To a large extent,the contribution she has made relies on her special status and influence. Also, she has given full play to her role as a leader and organizer. At the same time in which Deng Yingchao has made the leadership and organizations of the women's movement, she has concerned about some problems that occurred in the women's movement; she has timely raised her views and solutions on these problems after thinking and studying, which has formed her Women's Movement Thought at the democratic revolution Period.The paper has three parts:First part is the introduction. It mainly discusses the status and role of the women's movement and Deng Yingchao's outstanding contributions for the women's movement during the democratic revolution period.The second part illustrates the historical process which has formed the Women's Movement Thought of Deng Yingchao at the democratic revolution Period. The author has summed up this process in three stages: the germination stage of the women's movement of Deng Yingchao,the basically formative stage of the women's movement of Deng Yingchao and the development stage of the women's movement of Deng Yingchao. The first phase is the period before the Anti-Japanese War, which from May 4th Movement period to the Great Revolution period. At this stage, Deng Yingchao has led the foundation of the Actress and Social Council and has became the core of the Council; She has also led the organization of the Tianjin Women's National Council, which has strived for the right of women to participate the National Assembly; At the same time, she also organized the second leading feminist movement and the community of women which contributed to the National Movement. These women's organizations, women's groups and the establishment of the development of the women's movement have written a glorious chapter for the early history of the Chinese women's movement. It is also during the practical activities that Deng Yingchao has proposed her initial thinking of the women's movement.The second stage is the Anti-Japanese War period. During this period, Deng Yingchao has done a lot of work for the women's movement. In the specific practices, her women's work thought, idea of training women cadres, idea of women's groups and organizations and women's political participation thought has basically formed. .The third stage is the liberation war period that the development stage of the women's movement Thought of Deng Yingchao, in which stage the thought has developed after the germination stage and the formative stage.In the third part, the author particularly expounds the four main elements of the the women's movement Thought of Deng Yingchao at the democratic revolution period.First, women's work thought including four areas: the specific content of women's work,to strengthen the party's leadership over the work of women,the issue women's work should pay attention to and the achievements and shortcomings of women's work. Second is the idea of training women cadres. The author illustrates it on two aspects: the specific methods of training women cadres and the problems which should be pay for women cadres. Third is the idea of women's groups and organizations, which included three contents. The first content is the foundation of women's organization which can unify all the nation. The second content is the relationship between the commonly organizations of the public women and the women's groups.The last content is the defects which existing in the women's group and how to develop the new women's group. Fourth is the thought of women's political participation: the responsibilities of women in politics and the problems which should be pay for them. In the fourth part, the author has evaluated the women's movement of Deng Yingchao at the democratic revolution period. The evaluation has mainly proposed to the historical influence of the thought and its inspiration. In author's opinion, the historical influence of the thought has revealed from two areas: the great contribution to the new democratic revolution and the great guiding role for the development of the women's movement at the democratic revolution period. Its current inspiration has mainly included three aspects: boldly promoted and believe women cadres,women's political participation should be clearly known their responsibilities,raise the awareness and the quality for women to participate politics and women's organizations should be developed diversify.
