The formation of Dewey's pragmatic ethical education thought adapts to the benefits and demands of American bourgeoisie. Dewey thought that the purpose of moral education, which cultivate excellent citizens and go against the "cramming" principle of traditional ethical education thought, the moral hadn't absolute criterion of the value, the content of filter all the teaching, including religionary education for students, which deny the special ethical education courses. In the method of ethical education, he averred that use investigation -consulting and discussing, which let students to take part in the social existence. The article affirms that the virtue of Dewey's ethical education thought and point out its vice, which place emphasis on absorbing critically. Dewey's ethical education thought has enlightenment that promotes the current public ethical construction of our nation. For the healthy development of public ethical construction's crux is that ethical educations, at the same time, practices indicate that ethical education of our nation adopt all valuable achievement of science and technology in any case.
