Zhang Xue-cheng, an outstanding Qing-Dynasty historian and thinker, and the"Six Classics are all history"is an important proposition of his historiography thoughts, so understanding and grasping this proposition relates to assessing the value of Zhangshi's historiography thoughts. Since the last years of the Qing Dynasty and the early years of the Republic of China, a great number of historians had explained the connotation and value of his proposition"Six Classics are all history". Because of the special social and political environment, historians often explained the theory of Zhang Xue-cheng's"Six Classics are all history"in their own understanding about"Six Classics", coupled with the historians have their own orientation and purport with a different, more differences produced. This paper attempts to reveal the rationality and irrationality of the viewpoints about the implication inquiry of Zhang Xue-cheng's "Six Classics are all history", and explain the significance for the moment of them, basing on carding, analyzing and evaluating the relevant important researches and the main points, and from the reflection of predecessors, the experience and lessons are learned.This paper attempts to use three parts to review the situation of exploring the implications of Zhang Xue-cheng's"Six Classics are all history".The first part, briefly discussing the academic origin and academic tenet of Zhang Xue-cheng, and obtaining an understanding of my own about Zhang Xue-cheng's"Six Classics are all history", this is the base of evaluating the explanations about Zhangshi's "Six Classics are all history".The second part, basing on the two clues:"the classic demoted as history" and"respect history as the classic", systematically analyses and arranges the similarities and differences of the implication inquiry about Zhang Xue-cheng's "Six Classics are all history".The third part, basing on the understanding of mine about Zhang Xue-cheng's"Six Classics are all history", discusses the reason of the"Six Classics are all history" explained differently in depth, and also reviews the rationality, the partial and the significance for the moment of the explanations.
