The collapse of the Soviet Union was a major event in international politics, as well as in the history of socialist development in 1990s. It had a major impact on the Soviet Union, even to the whole world. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, many famous politicians and scholars want to know why the powerful Soviet Union collapsed with a sudden. Those years, scholars at home and abroad did research from different angles, as they wanted to find the reasons of the collapse. Of course, different people have different views. However, the analysis of the collapse with the perspective of cultural soft power is not enough. The concept of the soft power was proposed by Harvard professor Joseph Nye in the 1990s. Soft power as an important component of national strength, it is a kind of invisible power, it relies on the political system, attractiveness of the cultural values and the national image of the affinity. So it should be said that apart from the contest of the hard power between the United States and the Soviet Union, it also had the competition of the soft power. Then, Soviet Union was lack of soft power, for example, the political system, appeal of cultural values had declined , all these lead to the collapse of the Soviet Union. The analyzing of the Soviet Union's disintegration with the perspective of cultural soft power not only has important theoretical significance for analysis of the international political phenomenon in multi-angle, but also has an important reference value for China to enhance its own cultural soft power.
