| Plotting stereotype of poetic dramas in Yuan Dynasty is rather subjective. In fact, such phenomenon does not permeate all the dramas; some generally accepted stereotyped dramas differ in degrees in terms of proportions in the total works and similarity with other counterparts.Plotting stereotype occurs much less frequently in dramas with intense literati elegance as in works combining literati feelings and popular taste. It's a combination of the narrating styles of the literati and common people The contributors of plotting stereotype of the poetic dramas in Yuan Dynasty include transmitter, receptor, media, and etc. To be more specific, the dramatist's intentional fiction, the aesthetic psychology and stereotype of the audience, stage performance under the setting of commercial promotion as well as the requirements for the plot as"opera", all account for its formation.There's no intrinsic link between plotting stereotype and decline of poetic drama of Yuan Dynasty. On the contrary, it might be viewed as the mark of its prosperity. This phenomenon does not lead to identical works. The application of this plotting style goes hand in hand with creation of diverse details. Plotting style is propitious for producing and transmitting poetic dramas while it goes against innovation.Not only in poetic dramas of Yuan Dynasty does plotting stereotype find its way, which has aroused great attention of the researchers. There are some reasons to consider: literati's perspectives of the researchers, unique features of the dramas integrating folk characteristics and literati characteristics, the inadequateness of the drama's space and the modern critics'application of plotting theory in criticizing dramas. It's unilateral of the critics to denounce this phenomenon.Objective understanding of the phenomenon is propitious for the inheritance and enhancement of Chinese traditional opera. Moreover, it offers some inspirations for the development of Chinese TV series.
