| Objective:To observe the morphology and structure of the trigeminal nerve and the position of the trigeminal motor root in the trigeminal ganglion and mandibular nerve of human fetus. Methods:This study choose human embryonic specimens, (Non-disease deaths of the fetus induced labor, gestational age 20 weeks) trigeminal nerve and its branches of the trigeminal nerve, by HE staining,Dil (a carbonyl-merocyanine dye) staining technique, light and electron microscope and three-dimendional computer reconstruction (TRI for win 95/NT, Version:3.01),study for the trigeminal nerve and it' s morphology, especially for the motor fiber of the trigeminal nerve in the trigeminal nerve ganglion and the mandibular nerve. Results:â‘ The trigeminal nerve root of human fetus was composed of myelinated fibers and unmyelinated fibers, these two kinds of fibers are obviously different from each other.â‘¡Three-dimensional reconstruction clearly showed the distribution of the trigeminal root, ganglion and branches in which the motor root go through inside of the trigeminal sensory root, then under 1/3 deep side of the trigeminal ganglion, finally last into the medio-inferioral part of the mandibular nerve.â‘¢Transmission electron microscope revealed that the part of the fibers of trigeminal nerve of fetuses aged beyond 20 weeks were developed and have morphology characterstic of mature nerve fiber.â‘£After the trigeminal motor root staining by Dil for 3 months, the distribution and outline of marked nerve fibers can be clearly showed in the motor root. Conclusion:â‘ The trigeminal nerve root of human fetus is composed with myelinated fibers and unmyelinated fibers;â‘¡The motor root go through under 1/3 deep side of the trigeminal ganglion, finally last into the medio-inferioral part of the mandibular nerve;â‘¢The method used in this experiment which Three-dimensional reconstruction is feasible.â‘£The part of the fibers of trigeminal ganglion of fetuses aged beyond 20 weeks were grown and have morphology characterstic of mature nerve fiber. |
