Background:Anal fistula is a frequent disease often running a chronic course.Because high anal fistula has many post-operative complications, and easily lead to injury, a lot of scholars recognize the high anal fistula as the refractory disease. At present, the treatment of high anal fistula still is surgery. Topical the cutting seton form the mainstay of therapy, but much side effects followed. To seek for an ideal and effeetive new surgical method becomes an important task.The relief incision and stitch of internal anal sphincter conbine with the loose seton is a new technique which can avoid those side effects.It will be an alternative for high anal fistula.Objective:For the purpose of obtaining a proper procedure of protecting both internal sphincter and external sphincter in the operation for high anal fistula diseases to raise the curative effects. The relief incision and stitch of internal anal sphincter conbine with the loose seton was designed for application in the treatment of corresponding high anal fistula.Methods:20 patients with high anal fistula were included in the study,of whichlO cases underwent the relief incision and stitch of internal anal sphincter conbine with the loose seton (the study group),whilelO cases underwent the cutting seton (controll group).There was no difference between the groups in age, sex distribution, or Follow-up was by call questionnaire inquiring about fistula recurrence, incontinence, general curative effect, anal deformation and the healing time.Results:There is no difference in the general curative effect(P>0.05). But the study group functions in the protection of the anus and the degree of pain is superior to the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:Both methods are equally effective in eradicating the high anal fistula. The study group is better in protecting anal function than the controll group.
