| Objective: To explore the characteristic of renal cell carcinoma and its influence to the prognosis. Methods: Clinical data of 165 cases of renal cell carcinoma from July 2000 to June 2008 were reviewed retrospectively. Parameter data were obtained from 137 patients whose information was complete upon receipt of the renal cell cancer database. The survival rates were calculated by Kaplan-Meier method, and Cox regression model was used to analyze the relationship of the influencing factors and the prognosis. The relevant factors included sex, age, nation, location of tumor, size of carcinoma, pathological classification, pathological staging, pathological gradation, operating method, lymphatic metastasis, immunotherapy, smoking or not, incidental occurrence or not, etc. All data were assessed with SPSS16.0. Results: The survival rates of 137 recipients who lived for 1, 3 and 5 years were 97.1%, 83.6% and 62.1%, respectively. The median survival time was 72.68 months. Cox regression model showed that the main predictive factors were pathological staging(P < 0.001), pathological gradation(P=0.023) and lymphatic metastasis(P=0.044). They were the independent impact factors on the survival of patients with renal cell carcinoma. Conclusion: There are certain correlation between prognosis and tumor T staging, pathological gradation of tumor cell and lymphatic metastasis. |
