Clinical Research On The Treatment Of Post Stroke Depression With Tong Qiao Jie Yu Decoction

Objective:In this thesis we studied the etiological factors and the pathogenesis of the post-stroke depression (PSD), observed the therapeutic effect of the tong qiao Jie Yu decoction, which proved its validity and security.Methods:80 cases with PSD were randomly divided into Chinese medicine treatment group and fluoxetine treatment control group.Given the basic therapy of cerebrovascular disease equally to all the patients. On this basis, the Chinese medicine treatment group were treated by tong qiao jie yu Decoction secend daily; and the control group were given fluoxetine (20mg once daily). Before the treatment and after the treatment of 4th,8th weekend, by the fixed doctor, Using HAMD scale to assess its depression; The SNSS scale to assess the patients'neurological function; the quantificat scale of symptoms in TCM to assess its TCM syndrome; the TESS to monitor the side effect. After the experiment, we counted the software establishment data base with SPSS 15.0, carried on the statistical analysis.Results:By statistical analysis, the datum of the two groups before therapies had no significant deviation, including the sex,the age, and the value of HAMD and the TCM syndrome. After the treatment, the clinical observations showed that the two groups'total score of HAMD and the TCM syndrome decreased, the score of SNSS increased.There were no significant difference in improving the depression symptom. But the experimental group was better than the control group in improving the TCM syndrome and the neurologic impairment. Tong qiao jie yu decoction had no obvious side effect, the score of TESS between the two groups had significant difference.Conclusions:The pathogenesis of the post-stroke depression(PSD) is deficiency of kidney-essence and stagnation of the liver-Qi,blood and retention of phlegm.Clinical curative effects show that The tong qiao Jie Yu decoction can ameliorate depressive or anxious spirit, and its effect on treating PSD is as the same as Fluoxetine. There is no obvious side effect of the tong qiao Jie Yu decoction. and it is a safe and effective decoction to treat the post stroke depression.
