Study Of The Therapeutic Effect Of Supramalleolar Osteotomy For Traumatic Arthritis Of Period 2 On Ankle Joint

Objectives:Through the summary and analysis of the cl inical data and follow-up results of supramalleolar osteotomy for traumatic arthritis of period 2 of the ankle joint, Discussion supramal leolar osteotomy for traumatic arthritis of period 2 of the ankle joint surgical indications and surgical options, lessons learned, investigate the therapeutic effect of supramal leolar osteotomy for traumatic arthritis of period 2 of the ankle joint. for clinical treatment of traumatic arthritis of period 2 of the ankle joint of the surgical methods used to provide a reasonable basis.Methods:47 patients, being admitted to our hospital from october,2005 to may,2008, who had suffering from the traumatic arthritis on the ankle jiont, were treated with this operation.31 patients of them obtained full information,12 had got the open wedge-shaped osteotomy and the other 19 of which had treated with the lengthening osteotomy of the fibula. In detai I, of the former 12 patients,10 had been corrected the varus deformity of the ankle immediately during the operation,3 cases also got the release ing of tarsal tunnel at the same time. Besides this operation, while the other 2 ankles which had a severe varus deformity, were also treated with the Ilizarov external fixtor to correct the malformation slowly. The function of the ankles were assemented by the AOFAS scoring system.Results:During a mean 27.3 (12 months to 43 months) months fol lowing-up, a I I the fracture were healed, the mean time was 13.3 weeks (11-17 weeks), and the mean time of totally we i ght-bear i ng was 14.1 weeks (12-19weeks). The mean score of the ankle function 12 months after the operation was 84.3, in which.there was 14 excellent,11 good,6 mild, and the ratio of good outcomes was 80.6%. After the operation,2 had undergone the disruption of wound,1 patient had a skin necrosis around the the wound, and all the patients were healed by expectant treatment, while anaesthesia on the lateral side of the foot happened to 3 patients,and the X-ray of 2 patients indicated a slightly aggravated degeneration of the ankle joint. Treatment with a joint injection of sodium hyaluronate was attended with good results None of them had a loosen or breakage of the screws, or failure of the internal fixation.Conclusion:Supramal leolar osteotomy could come to a good outcome in the early postoperative period for the secondary traumatic arthritis of the ankle joint, it is a more appropriate treatment for the secondary traumatic arthritis of the ankle joint and clinical worthy of popularizing.
