Clinical Studies On Impact Of Quality Of Life Of Jianpi Jiedu Huayu Therapy In The Treatment Of Patients With Advanced Colorectal Cancer

Objective:To observe the impact of quality of life of Jianpi Jiedu Huayu therapy in treatment of advanced colorectal cancer, evaluate the comprehensive effectiveness and provide clinical basis for the study of traditional Chinese medicine treating colorectal cancer. Further more, through preliminary investigation on the relevance of KPS, tumor marker and quality of life, provide the practice basis for the system of Chinese medicine valuation.Methods:51 cases with advanced colorectal cancer were divided into two groups, the treatment group with 26 cases, the control group with 25 cases. The treatment group were adopted to treat with chemotherapy and Jianpi Jiedu Huayu therapy, and the control group just received chemotherapy. The OLF chemotherapy regimen in two groups is adopted, repeating after 3 weeks. The results are recorded after 2 cycles. The QOL, the value of CEA and CA199, the KPS and those safety indexes including blood routine and biochemical test should be recorded and analyzed by statistical software.Results:(1) Efficacy research:â‘ Jianpi Jiedu Huayu therapy combining chemotherapy can improve the QOL of patients very well and better than chemotherapy alone on the emotion, function and other concerning status.â‘¡On the aspect of KPS, the treatment group has significant difference (P<0.05) with the baseline, but the control group does not. After treatment, the two groups have significant difference (P<0.05), which means the treatment group is better than the control group on the general condition.â‘¢On the aspect of tumor marker, the values of CEA and CA199 declines in a certain extent, but there is no significant difference. (2) Safety research:On the aspect of alleviating adverse response of chemotherapy, there are significant differences in nausea, vomiting and diarrhea after treatment, and there is no significant difference in other terms. The result suggests that Jianpi Jiedu Huayu therapy combining chemotherapy doesn't add the adverse response of chemotherapy, and alleviate the chance of gastrointestinal adverse reactions.Conclusions:Jianpi Jiedu Huayu therapy is an empirical formula made on the basis of years clinical experience by my tutor. The preliminary observation suggests that the formula is an effective therapy in treating advanced colorectal cancer which can significantly improve the QOL of patients and the KPS.
