Objective: To investigate the diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of testicular tumor.Object and Methods: From Jun.1997 to Dec.2007, 60 cases of testicular tumor treated in our hospital were retrospectively investigated. The 60 cases age range from 8 months to 77 years, and the average age was 31 years. Of the 60 cases, 46 cases were germinoma (seminoma 19 cases, nonseminomatous germ cell tumor, NSGCT 27 cases), 7 cases were non-germinoma ( sex cord-stromal tumor 3 cases, rete testis tumor 2 cases, embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma 1 case, epidermoid cyst 1 case ), and the other 7 cases were secondary tumor (testis leukemia 4 cases , testis lymphoma 3 cases). For 23 cases the tumors were on the left side, for 34 cases the tumors were on the right side, and for the other 3 cases the tumors were bilateral(all the 3 cases were secondary tumor).Eleven out of the 60 cases were complicated with cryptorchidism, the age of onset range from 27 years to 50 years, and the average age was 37 years; all the 11 cases were germinoma (seminoma 7 cases, NSGCT 4 cases).Results:Forty-seven cases (seminoma 16 cases, NSGCT 22 cases, non-germinoma 5 cases, secondary tumor 4 cases) have been followed-up for 1-153 months, and the average was 51.1 months. The follow-up rate was 78.3%(47/60). The 3-year survival rate of stageâ… and stageâ…¡~â…¢testicular tumor were 94.29% (33/35) and 8.33% (1/12); the 3-year survival ratel of seminoma and NSGCT were 100%(16/16) and 72.72%(16/22); the 3-year survival rate of non-germinoma and secondary tumor were 40%(2/5) and 0%(0/4).Conclusion:(1)B-mode ultrasonography is an important diagnose method for testicular tumor. CT and MRI is beneficial to clinical stage.(2)AFP is a important marker for diagnosis and early recurrence of yolk sac tumor.(3)There is no significant difference in the 3-year survival rate of Stageâ… seminoma between RO and RO plus radiotherapy or chemo-treatment, intensive follow-up is helpful for stage I seminoma after RO. RO plus risk-adapted treatments is firstly recommended for stageâ… NSGCT.(4) The 3-year survival rate of seminoma is higher than that of NSGCT; Stage I testicular tumor has a high 3-year survival rate ; Secondary tumor has a low 3-year survival rate.
