| Objective:To investigate the expression of characteristics and the correlation of the interleukin 2(IL-2) between saliva and serum in patients with recurrent aphthous ulceration(RAU).In order to get many more information about immunologic state of RAU and use saliva instead of serum as biological sample to investigate the etiology.Drug monitoring and lesions change of RAU.Mothods:Thirty patients with light RAU and healthy thirty control were recruited. The level of IL-2 were measured in both saliva and serum of patients with RAU through centrifugation and control subjects by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA) and IL-2 standard cure.Result:1) The levels of IL-2 in salivary of RAU group were 33.53±8.98pg/ml, significantly lower than the level of control group 59.89±12.24pg/ml, there are significant differences(P<0.01).2) The levels of IL-2 in serum of RAU group were 36.20±11.68pg/ml, significantly lower than the level of control group 57.56±18.23pg/ml, there are significant differences(P<0.01).3) There was significant correlation between saliva and serum concentrations of IL-2 in patients with RAU(r=0.650, P<0.01)Conclusion:1)Concentrations of IL-2 in saliva were significantly lower (P<0.01) in patients with RAU than those in the control group.2)Concentrations of IL-2 in serum were significantly lower (P<0.01) in patients with RAU than those in the control group. 3)The study demonstrates that there was positive correlation between saliva and serum concentrations of IL-2 in patients with RAU. The RAU can be detected by measuring the level of IL-2 in patient saliva. |
