Serum Insulin-like Growth Factor-1 Determination For Han Healthy Adults In Urumqi

OBJECTIVE:To determine plasma concentration of fasting IGF-1 aged 21-70 years for han healthy adults in Urumqi, and analyze the relationship betwee n with age,sex,height,weight,BMI and waist circumference. METHODS:W e recruited 50 volunteers (race:Han) who took health examination in XinJiang Uger autonomic people's hospital, all of whom were confirmed with normal pitu itary hormone and pituitary imaging. These participants was made of 5 group:gr oup 1:age 21—30, group 2:age 31—40, group 3; age 41—50, group 4; age 51—60, group 5:age 61—70, each group comprises 5 males and 5 females. Bo dy height, weight, BMI were recorded accurately by endocrinologists; After overn ight fasting, all volunteers were required draw off blood in the early morning an d quiet circumstance. RESULTS:(1) To describe respectively the concentration o f serum IGF-1 according to age group, its level was gradually declined with age increased. (2) Serum IGF-1 between men and women was no significant differen ce (P>0.05). (3) In correlation analysis, serum IGF-1 and age, weight, BMI, wais t circumference was significantly negative correlation. CONCLUSION:we initiall y understand serum IGF-1 levels of different age groups, IMMULITE 2000 analy sis Han healthy adults in Urumqi. To build normal serum IGF-1 reference values on Chinese adults, and to further expand the study sample.
