Objective:To establish the reference range of serum IGF-1 value of adults in Xin Jiang and to explore the differences between age and gender.Methods:(1)Chemiluminescence method was used to detect the level of IGF-1 in1000 healthy adults aged 18-67 years old. They were divided into 10 groups according to age.The median,±2SD,±SD and 95% confidence interval of IGF-1 were calculated.(2)The reference range established in this study and the reference range provided by the laboratory were used to evaluate the value of serum IGF-1 in patients with acromegaly,at the same time, the clinical manifestations, complications and biochemical characteristics of patients with acromegaly were described.Results:(1)The serum IGF-l level of both men and women decreased with age;the 97.5% of serum IGF-1 value in this study population and the 97.5% of 95% confidence interval provided by IMMULITE2000 kit were tested by wilcoxon symbolic rank sum test, and the difference was statistically significant.(2)By comparing the IGF-1 of men and women in different age groups,it was found that the value of IGF-1 in women was significantly higher than that in men except23-27 years old(p=0.018)and 28-32 years old(p=0.001),but there was no significant difference in other age groups.(3)The reference range provided by the kit and the reference range establishedin this study were statistically significant to evaluate serum IGF-1biochemical remission and accurate FIsher test in patients with acromegaly.Conclusion:(1)The reference range of serum IGF-1 for sex and age matching of adults in Xinjiang is different from that provided by the kit.(2)According to the follow-up evaluation of patients with acromegaly in our hospital,it was found that the reference range established in this study was more than that provided by the kit to achieve biochemical remission.
