A Randomized, Controlled Trial On Intervention In Phlegm-dampness Constitution Through Ozone-autohemotherapy

ObjectiveBy doing the comparison observation on the Ozone-autohemotherapy and the Huatan Qushi decoction in Phlegm-dampness Constitution patients, the intervention and the possibility of interfering in this type of partial c onstitution through Ozone-autohemotherapy is approachedMethodsSeventy patients of Phlegm-dampness Constitution were randomly divide d into two groups, as the proportion of 1:1:the Ozone-autohemotherapy Gr oup (Ozonetherapy Group) and the Huatan Qushi Decoction Group (Tradition al Chinese Medicine(TCM) Control Group). All patients completed 2 courses of treatment, without any cases lost. Patients were evaluated by Phlegm-dampness Constitution Index at the times before treatment,2 courses afte r treatment, and 1 month after the end of treatment. Meanwhile, blood fat (TC,TG,LDL-C,HDL-C) was checked at the times before treatment and 2 co urses after treatment in order to determine the effect.Results1. Intra-group comparison:The efficiency rate is above 70% on downgr ading of Phlegm-dampness Constitution estimation grade, TC, TG, LDL-C, an d the healing efficacy is still effective in the following 1 month, eithe r by the result of groupl or group2(P<0.01). But once therapy discontinue s, there isn't any continuing effect of either group (P>0.05).2. Inter-group comparison:The investigations of 2 courses after trea tment and 1 month after the end of treatment show no statistical signific ant difference between both groups, which means that the Ozonetherapy Gro up has the same effect as the TCM Control Group in downgrading of Phlegm-dampness Constitution estimation grade, TC, TG, LDL-C (P>0.05). Besides, the healing efficacy duration is very close between Ozonetherapy Group an d TCM Control Group(P>0.05). There are significant difference on TG reduc tion between the Ozone therapy Group and the TCM Control Group (P<0.01), which reveals that the Ozone therapy Group is better on TG reduction than the TCM Control Group. There is no statistic significance on the healing efficacy preventing time between treatment group and control group, whic h reveals that the healing efficacy preventing time by treatment group is comparable with control group.3. No significant difference was observed on weight and waistline bef ore and after treatment between these 2 groups (P>0.05); The effective ra te on losing weight by the TCM Control Group has significant difference b y comparing with the Ozone therapy Group, which reveals that the TCM Cont rol Group is better on losing weight than the Ozone therapy Group. ConclusionThere is no difference in effect between Ozone-autohemotherapy and Hu atan Qushi Decoction treatment. That is to say Ozone-autohemotherapy is a ble to potently downgrade the Phlegm-dampness Constitution estimation gra de, TC, TG, LDL-C, but it has little effect for the increasing of HDL-C. As a backup treatment for Phlegm-dampness Constitution, Ozone-autohemothe rapy has far-reaching guidance in improving constitution, and deserves fu rther researching and popularizing.
