Objective To develop a Chinese version scale of quality of life (QOL) instrument, which can be used to appraise the quality of life for patients with stroke, and evaluate the reliability, validity, responsibility. To explore the influence factors of stroke patients'QOL, in order to provide the reference of therapy. Methods Based on the definition of quality of life from WHO, the research team referred to the accepted stroke special scales, related literature and consulted the experts'group (including Neurology experts, Psychology and sociology experts), we drew off the items.By using variation coefficient method, correlation coefficient, factor analysis, the importance score for analysis,Meet again to discuss topics on analysis results of the Conference, form specific module tests the quality of life in patients with stroke.Stroke-specific modules and existing modules combininf common formed of stroke in stroke patients quality of life scale.By May 2010 to February 2011 using the above two scales of 100 stroke patients to investigate, evaluated scales for reliability, validity and responsiveness, while the clinical indicators of stroke patients to collect, analyze the impact of stroke patients quality of life factors.Results(1) The 36 items have developed chronic diseases common modules and the 18 (initial screening has been carried out) entries in the stroke-specific modules, composed of 36 +18 items stroke patients Quality of Life, which was short for QLICD-ST.(2) QLICD-ST Reliability:The coefficients of internal consistency Cronbach's Alpha of all domains were greater than 0.8 except social function domain. The split-half were greater than 0.7 except social function domain. The results of test-retest reliability indicate that reliability of all domains correlation coefficients of first and second were greater than 0.8 except psychological function domain. The reliability of the questionnaire was good.(3) QLICD-ST Validity:Because the item pool were discussed by panels and expert in neurology and it could reflect the definition of health related QOL proposed by WHO, the QLICD-ST had good content validity. The analysis for the special module of QLICD-ST follows. Most of the correlation coefficients between item and its domain were greater than the correlation coefficients between item and other domains. Five components were explored by using factor analysis with varimax rotation, and explain 71.483% of the variance.Have reflected sides such as special symptom, special psychological problem,etc.Entries-correlation and factor analysis results in the field, scale has a good structure validity.Since there is no gold standard, temporarily SF-36 scale scores for each criterion area, scale scores and total score in all areas in the subject of SF-36 correlation corresponding good effect.By the above 3 respects, the result showed good criterion validity of the instrument.(4) QLICD-ST Responsiveness:The differences of each domain between first and third time point had statistical significance. So the scale had good responsibility.(5) Feasibility evaluated:About 15~30 minutes were spent in completing the instrument and the rate of recovery of the questionnaire is 97%, among them the accomplishment ratio of the scale is 95%,these demonstrated that good feasibility of the instrument.(6) The multivariate regression analysis of influence factors of QOL show that education, occupation, age, economic status,Low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, triglyceride affect different domains of QOL of the stroke. Conclusion The QLICD-ST is reliable, valid, sensitive and could be used to assess quality of patients with the stroke. The Quality of life scores did not have the close linear correlation with objiectivity items. The influence factors of patients' Quality of life were education, occupation, age, economic status,Low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, triglyceride. However, there were still other influence factors, such as lifestyle, psychological education, family care and so on.
