1. Objectives:This research aims to explore health status of the inhabitants in Jilin Province and its influence factors,through the analysis of demography characteristics of the local residents,the two-week morbidity, chronic illness morbidity. It also surveys the health service utilization of inhabitants in Jilin Province, by the analysis on the situation of therapy, treatment, hospitalization and so on of residents.This study could provide base for the reforms of the health care system in Jilin Province.2. Methods:A stratified multi-stage cluster sampling method was used in this investigation. A total of 13922 residents from 4778 households in 40 street districts and 35 townships of 9 cities in Jilin province, were surveyed by questionnaire interview with questionnaire about family health of National Health Services Survey.Using survey data to describe demography characteristics of the local residents in Jilin Province, The prevalence of two weeks and chronic diseases and influence factors were analyzed. The causes of therapy, treatment, hospitalization and other related health service utilization were also analyzed.The data was analyzed with SPSS 13.0 for statistical analysis. Quantitative data was described with x±s and processed with t test; qualitative data was described with rates or proportions and analyzed with X2 test.α= 0.05 is the test level.3. Results:3.1 Distribution of population and accessibility of health service;The status of the nation, marriage, cultural, employment and economy between urban and rural are different. The aging condition of urban is more seriously than it in rural area. Economic level of urban is higher than rural, in addition,the accessibility of health service in rural is worse than it in urban.3.2 The health status of the residents;The morbidity of two-week in Jilin province is 9.22% and the top five sicken systems in descending order are circulatory system, respiratory system, digestive system, musculoskeletal system and endocrine system, which account for 84.73% of all diseases. The total morbidity rate of chronic disease was 11.87%.While the top five sicken systems of the chronic disease's morbidity rate are circulatory system, musculoskeletal system, digestive system, endocrine system and respiratory system. According to conclusions, it is found that rank of two-week disease and chronic disease in sequence between urban and rural are different.3.3 Utilization of medical care of the residents;89.72% residents who get ill within two weeks have been treating, the percentage of the self-medication residents is 48.76% and the two-week visiting rate is 5.93%. The hospitalization rate is 4.53% in the survey area, in addition the proportion of the residents who should be in hospital but not hospitalized is 43.29%. There exists difference between urban and rural residents who attacked by diseases within two-week in the way of treatment, the level of the medical care institution which residents go to is higher in urban than it in rural, furthermore,the level of medical care utilization is lower in low-income population.3.4 Health status and the influencing factors of utilization of medical care;Gender, age, nationality, marital, culture, situaion of employment, the type of medical insurance and economic level are the main influencing factors of two-week morbidity rate,chronic disease's morbidity rate and the utilization of medical care.4. Conclusion4.1 The urban and rural regional, age, gender, the education level, situaion of employment, the type of medical care, the economic condition of families and so on, are the main influencing factors of health status and utilization of medical care.4.2 The existing condition of medical care cannot meet with residents' requirements; therefore, we should increase medical care investment and improve the quality of it.4.3 Between urban and rural there exists imbalance of the medical care utilization, and it is also exists between low and high income people.
