Objective: The purpose of this study by comparing the CPAP and oral appliances forobstructive sleep apnea syndrome patient outcomes, subjective feelings were recorded before andafter treatment, PSG (poly-somno-graphy) effect changes in patients comfort during treatment andtreatment options tendency to investigate the treatment effect for clinical guidance.Studies the route: During the treatment options 2008.10-2010.10 First Hospital of ShanxiMedical University, Department of Respiratory Medicine, in both 30 patients with severe OSAS,patients were randomly assigned to CPAP with oral appliance and method of treatment, patientstreated with oral appliance occlusal reconstruction by the post-production appliance. Analysis andcomparison of patients six months after the change of PSG efficacy, according to Bonham andother questions about OSAS evaluation criteria to evaluate the efficacy of treatment, patientsrecorded subjective feelings and comfort of patients during the treatment and the treatment optionstendencies. Experimental data were analyzed using statistical software SPSS17.0.Results: CPAP and oral appliance therapy before and after the PSG results and subjectiveeffects were compared before and after treatment found: CPAP and oral appliance therapy prior tothe monitoring project was no significant difference can be considered in patients receiving twotreatments from the same population. Indicators before and after treatment in both groups, thedifferences were statistically significant. CPAP and oral appliance therapy showed no statisticallysignificant difference.Conclusion: CPAP and oral appliance therapy before the monitoring was no significantdifference between the project can be considered in patients receiving two treatments from thesame population. CPAP treatment with the oral appliance was nostatistically significant difference can be considered, CPAP and oral appliance efficacy of twotreatment methods are similar, oral appliance because of its quick, good quality, comfortable, safe,low prices, more suitable for patients daily wear. Patient comfort during treatment and treatmentoptions tend to findings: patients prefer oral appliance treatment.
