Objective:To explore the choice of the treatment for distal clavicle fracture. By evaluating the score of the shoulder joint function after the treatment of distal clavicle fracture through the clavicular hook plate fixation and the Kirschner wire tension band fixation, compare the clinical efficacy of the two kinds of treatment methods. Thereby, provide selected basis for the clinical treatment of distal clavicle fracture methods. Methods:Affiliated Hospital of Shandong University of TCM Orthopedics since September 2006 to September 2009 has been hospitalized 96 patients with distal clavicle fracture, clavicular hook plate fixation in 64 cases, internal fixation with Kirschner wire in 32 cases. Between injury and surgery is 2 hours to 3 days, an average of 2 days. Follow-up period rangs from 9 to 15 months, with an average of 12 months. Through the observation of the clinical effect of the two groups and the JO A score of the shoulder joint function, and through making statistical analysis, analyze and evaluate the efficacy of two methods. Results:For the distal clavicle fracture, clavicular hook plate group is significantly better than the K-wire group. There is statistically significant difference between the clavicular hook group and the Kirschner wire group for the JOA score of the shoulder joint function (P<0.05). Conclusion:For the distal clavicle fracture, clavicular hook plate group is significantly better than the K-wire group. Specifically, the improvement of the pain in the clavicular hook plate group is significantly better than the K-wire group, the postoperative shoulder mobility, functional, X ray evaluation and joint stability are also better than the K-wire group. Clavicular hook plate internal fixation is a good way to treat the distal clavicle fracture with advantages of operating simply, reliable internal fixation and relatively few complications. It can also provide an early exercise for patients and the long-term result is satisfactory.
