Objective:To investigate the prevalence rate of anxiety and depression in type 2 diabetic patients and discuss the relationship between the negative emotions and each factors of quality of life. Find out the impact to the negative emotions and the quality of life from the psychological treatment.Methods:In the first part, research and analyze the scores of the Self-Rating Anxiety Scale (SAS), Self-Rating Depression Scale (SDS) and Generic Quality of Life Inventory-74 (GQOLI-74) that were assessed by forty-four general community residents and eighty-eight type 2 diabetes. In the second part, dived the eighty-eight type 2 diabetic patients into two groups, control group (n=44), experimental group (n=44). The experimental group received the psychological treatment, but the control group was not received, all of the two groups were accepted the conventional therapies. We assessed the level of the anxiety, depression and the quality of life before and after the treatment.Results:(1)There is no significant difference with the age, sex and educational attainments between all three groups. The same as control and experimental group with complication; (2)Between the normal group and other two groups, significant difference was existed in SAS, SDS and first three factors of the GQOLI-74, but not in the last factor of the GQOLI-74. And anxiety and depression were found to hanv negative correlation with each factor of GQOLI-74; (3) After the psychological treatment, the experimental group had got significant improvement in SAS, SDS and first two factors of GQOLI-74, but the other two factors were not. In the control group, all targets were not found any significant difference.Conclusion:(1)The psychological well-being and the quality of life between the type 2 diabetic patients and general community residents has significant difference; (2) The psychological well-being was found to be negative correlation with the quality of life; (3)The psychological treatment can improve the psychological well-being and the quality of life in type 2 diabetic patients.
