And provide the clinical research of acupuncture with reliable evidence.Methods:112 MCI patients were recruited and randomly assigned to electric scalp acupuncture group and electric scalp acupuncture with syndrome differentiation group. Each patient was treated for 8 weeks, three times a week. Mini-mental state examinations (MMSE), image recognition, clock-drawing task were used to score the patients respectively one month after the treatment and two months after the treatment. For electric scalp acupuncture with syndrome differentiation group, selection of points was on the basis of syndrome differentiation according the syndrome differentiation scale of traditional Chinese medicine. Results:the study was finished well with a balanced group distribution, fine baseline, and sharp comparability. Both of two treatments are effective in treating MCI and improve the cognitive capability of patients, but no statistical significance between two groups was found. Conclusion:both of two treatments were effective in treating MCI, but the superiority was still unclear.Because of the unfinished patients'recruitments, differences of therapeutic effects of two treatments could not be demonstrated comprehensively and objectively. The further analysis would be carried out when enough sample size was provided after another center finished the study.
