Objective:To investigate the therapeutic effect of scalp acupuncture combined with traditional needling therapy in the treatment of obstinate peripheral facial paralysis by randomized controlled trial. Method: The clinical inclusion criteria in line with the selection of patients with obstinate peripheral facial paralysis 60 cases were randomly divided into two groups,each group 30 cases, treatment time is four courses(15 days per treatment)。Treatment group,"added the Traditional needling scalp"law, the control group of"Traditional needling"to observe the clinical effect of the two groups.Result:1 . All patients'facial nerve functions significantly improved after treatment(p<0.05).2. The treatment group had significantly better improvement in their facial nerve Functions than that of the control group (p<0.05).3. Over half of the treatment group patients were clinically recovered after treatment, but the control group composed of patients having very effective and effective results.After statistical analysis, the difference in group composition in the two groups was significant(p<0.05).4.After two course of treatment, the treatment group showed significant improvements in the facial nerve function;but, the control group showed improvement in the end of four course of treatment. The difference in curative effect in the course of treatment for the two groups was significant(p<0.05).Conclusions: Scalp acupuncture and traditional needling combined therapy is more effective than sole traditional needling therapy in treating obstinate peripheral facial paralysis.
