ObjectiveObjective:(1)To observe the changes of dark-adapted electroretinogram (ERG)in different times during the day in New zealand white rabbits.(2)To observe thechanges of dark-adapted ERG after intravenous injection different doses of trioleinemulsion in the rabbits.Explore the mechanisms of visual disorder after fat embolism.Methods:(1)24 rabbits′dark-adapted ERG were recorded at 8:00 and 14:00respectively according to the International Society for Clinical Electrophysiology ofvision (ISCEV).(2)60 New Zealand white rabbits were randomly divided into sixgroups and each group contained 10 rabbits. The rabbits in various groups received0.5ml/kg saline, 0.1 ml/kg, 0.2 ml/kg, 0.3 ml/kg, 0.4 ml/kg,0.5 ml/kg triolein emulsionrespectively by the rabbit ear vein. Dark-adapted ERG was determined a week beforeinjection of triolein emulsion (baseline),30 min and 6 hr after injection of trioleinemulsion.Results:(1)Scot ERG b-waves,max ERG b-wave and OPs showed no significantdifferences between 8:00 and 14:00.(2)There is no significant changes in the darkadaptedERG at 30 min and 6 hr after the injection of 0.1 ml/kg triolein emulsion whencompared with the baseline(P>0.05). While injection volume of triolein emulsionreached 0.2 ml/kg,0.3 ml/kg,0.4 ml/kg, the scot ERG b-wave, max ERG b-wave andOps showed statistical differences between the baseline and at 30min after injection(P<0.05), but no differences between the baseline and at 6h after the injection,(P>0.05).At 30 min and 6 hr after injection of 0.5 ml/kg triolein emulsion, the dark-adapted ERG all showed statistical differences when compared with the baseline(P<0.05).ConclusionsConclusions:(1)The dark-adapted ERG showed no significance changes in Scotb-waves , max ERG b-wave and Ops at 8:00 and 14:00.(2)Intravenous injection oftriolein emulsion can cause damage to retinal and this damage increased with the doseincreased.
