Objective:The aim of this study was To observe the clinical outcome of anterior cruciate ligament(ACL) reconstruction using the double bundle technique and single bundle technique. We will find out whether there are different clinical outcome of those technique.Method:We conduced a randomized, prospective study. We made a follow-up study to the patient who has suffered the ACL reconstruction from January 2007 to September 2009. Incording to the operation they have accepted, we divided the patient to single-bundle reconstruction group(SB group) and double-bundle reconstruction group(DB group). We checked their lachman sign, anterior drawer test(ADT),povit shift test. The Lysholm and Tegner knee examination form was use to evaluate the knee function after the operation. The isokinetic test was use to evaluate the stability of the knee.Results:27 patients were randomized to DB group(13 patient) and the SB group(14 patient). The mean age was 29.5(14-40) years old. Male was 19 and female was 8. The mean time after the operation was 18.5 (9-36) month. The lachman sign, anterior drawer test(ADT), povit shift test was negative in all patient. There were no different before the operation between SB group and DB group in Lysholm and Tegner score. The Lysholm and Tegner score both improved after the opera-tion. No significant post-operation between-group difference was found in Lysholm and Tegner score. The isokinetic test found DB group show a little better than SB group, but no significant difference. Conclusion:Both single-bundle reconstruction and double-bundle reconstruc-tion can improve the knee stability and knee function. There are no signi-ficant different between SB and DB. There aren't good way to evaluate the rotate stability of the knee now.
