ObjectiveThe objectives of the study were to:Identify quality of life status of patients with coronary heart disease(CHD) following percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI) in stent era; Compare the quality of life before and after PCI;Compare the quality of life between patients with type-D personality and non-type-D personality; Explore the other social and psychological influential factors that have impacts on quality of life of patients with CHD following percutaneous coronary intervention PCI in stent era,and provide theoretical support for the nursing of patients.Methods104 CHD patients who have coronary heart disease following PCI in stent era from the First affiliated Hospital of China Medical University, were approached to participate in the present study. They completed the questionnaires of The Short-Form Health Survey 36(SF-36),Type-D Scale(DS14),and the demographic and clinical characteristics were received by the general state questionnaire of self-designed. The always of face-to-face interview was used when the researcher asked contents of questionnaire from patients before the operation in hospital, and telephone follow-ups were used to contact discharged patients 3 months later after operation. All data was processed with 13.0 version of SPSS software. The status including patients' demographic data and the quality of life before and after the operation, were described by means, percentage, and the difference of quality of life among two times points and the influence of Type-D personality on patients' quality of life were compared by T test, and used multiple linear stepwise regression to analysis the other influential factors of quality of life. Results1. The average score of patients with coronary heart disease before percutaneous coronary intervention in stent era was 38.44, the dimension of "physical function" was the highest score. The average score of QOL 3 months after percutaneous coronary intervention in stent era was 72.72,the dimension of "bodily pain" was the highest score. The score of QOL 3 months after operation was much higher than before, both total and every dimensions. The differences were significant.2. Of all the investigated patients, The Type-D personality was 37.5%.Three month After the PCI operation, the total score of Type-D personality patients were 69.8±10.5, lower than non-Type-D personality patients' score(74.5±9.2). And the difference between the two groups in dimensions of "physical function","role-emotion","mental health" was also significant.3. In the multiple linear stepwise regression after the PCI operation,type-D personality entered the equations of average score of the quality of life, the dimensions of"Physical Function"(Beta=-0.243),"Bodily Pain"(Beta=-0.220),"General Health"(Beta=-0.304), "Vitality"(Beta=-0.322), "social function"(Beta=-0.271), "role-emotion"(Beta=-0.212), "mental health"(Beta=-0.332).4. The other influence factors on quality of life status of patients with coronary heart disease following percutaneous coronary intervention in stent era.were gender, age, smoking, medical care assurance, other diseases, the level of knowledge, body weight, pathogenesis, number of stents.Conclusion1. The quality of life of patients with coronary heart disease before percutaneous coronary intervention in stent era were in the low level,.After percutaneous coronary intervention in stent era,the quality of life were step up to the high level. There were significant differences in the aspect of physical.2. Type-D personality was a risk factor and the quality of life of patients with type-D personality was lower than patients with non-type-D personality.3. Type-D personality independent influence the psychological and social aspects of quality of life,It was specifically manifested in "Physical Function","Bodily Pain","General Health","Vitality","social function","role-emotion","mental health". 4. The other influential factors of the quality of life status were gender age, smoking, medical care assurance, other diseases, the level of knowledge, body weight, pathogenesis, number of stents.5. Clinical nurses should try to find Type D personality patients and provide appropriate interventions to improve the quality of these patients.
