ObjectTo determine whether sequential treatment eradicates H. pylori infection better than standard triple-drug therapy.MethodsSequential regimen (40 mg of Esomeprazole,1000mg of amoxicillin each administered twice daily for the first 5 days, followed by 40 mg of Esomeprazole,500 mg of clarithromycin, and 500 mg of tinidazole, each administered twice daily for the remaining 5 days.)or standard therapy (40 mg of Esomeprazole,500 mg of clarithromycin, and 1000mg of amoxicillin,each administered twice daily).ResultsThe eradication rate of sequential therpy was 90.9% and that of Standard Triple-Drug Therapy was 70%.ConclusionSequential therapy is more effective than Standard Triple-Drug Therapy. |
