Study On Establishing The Evaluation Index System For Critical Thinking Skills Of Nursing Interns

Objective:The study aimed at establishing an evaluation index system for critical thinking skills of nursing interns, which is easy to use,highly scientific and distinguising, trying to providing a tool to improve the standardization, objectivity and fairness of the evaluation process.Methods:Based on the theory analysis, literature review and group discussion, items for the evaluation system were collected. By two rounds consultation of 20 experts using Delphi, the system structure was established,which including definition of index and their relative weight.The Enthusiasm Coefficient of experts, the Authority Coefficient of experts, the Coefficients of Variation and the Harmonization Coefficient W were used to examine the reliability and representation of expert consultation.Results:The evaluation index system was composed of 28 items from 7 domains including discriminating.information seeking.analyzing.logical reasoning.transforming knowledge, predicting.applying standards. After 2 rounds of expert consultation.the Enthusiasm Coefficient of experts was 90.91%(>60%).The average Authority Coefficient of experts was 0.84 (>0.70).The Coefficients of variation of the 7 domains in the first grade index ranged from 0.122 to 0.193, those of the 16 items in the second grade index ranged from 0.077 to 0.195 and the second grade index connotation ranged from 0.000 to 0.194.The weights of the first grade index,the second grade index and the second grade index connotation were set up.Conclusions:1.Construction of the evaluation index systemThrough 2 rounds of expert consultation, a set of evaluation index system was established, which was composed of 28 items from 7 domains and index structure, connotation and the weights were set for each item.The reliability analysis of the 2 rounds expert consultation showed that the expert consultations had good reliability and representation.2.Significance of the construction of the evaluation index system will be:â‘ to help the nursing interns to achieve the training objectives of critical thinking skills;â‘¡to provide a guide for management of nursing teaching:â‘¢to provide a tool to easy the evaluation of critical thinking skills of nursing interns.3. Further research:â‘ some items are still too abstract.need to be defined more spicific. the rationalities and their weights need to be adjusted in the following study.The index system were not measured and analysed. The reliability and validity of the system should be tested on the basis of data from real measuring of certain amount of nursing interns. and then the system could been refined in the future.
