The Effect Of The Hospice Home Care For The Teminal Cancer Patients

[Objective]1. To find out the quality of life of terminal cancer patients in our nation.2. Evaluat the effectiveness of the hospice home care,then compare this mode with hospitalization, in order to find out a mode which suit ourcondition better.3. To find out the defects of the hospice home care.[Methods]The research is a prospective studyof non-random independent-sample. From 2007.1 to 2008.12, the home-care group which received hospice home care have 459 cases(the sample came from the Hopice Department), the hospitalization group which received the normal hospitalization have 170 cases(11 sample came from the hospitalization of Oncology and 159 sample came from the hospitalization of the Conbined Treatment of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Western Menicine). All patients in the sample suffer terminal cancer and can't cure, and completed QOL questionnaires before and after therapy. Data were analyzed using the SPSS 13.0. [Result]l.The QOL score before treatment is 35.21±1.75, and after treatment is 40.21±1.33.Both groups improved in QOL,the control of pain and the meaning of life after therapy(p<0.000).2.Camparisons between the home-care group and the hospitalization group, there is a significant differences in QOL and the meaning of life (p<0.000), the home-care group had improved significantly both in QOL and the meaning of life than the hospitalization group. And the home-care group had a better control of pain and more satisfaction than the hospitalization group, more over,the expenses in the home-care group is much less than in the hospitalization group.But the home-care group which received hospice home care can't get some therapys, such as allopathy,full-time therapy and cure therapy.[Conclusions]1.The teminal cancer patients in our nation get a poor score of QOL.2.The hospice home care with the aim of pain-control can significantly improve the QOL and the meaning of life of terminal cancer patients, and get much pain-control and family satisfaction, the expenses in the group of home care is much less the in the group of hospitalization.It's a better mode suits our condition, especialy suits the poor people,so our government should take some measures to perfect this mode, and the hopice home care should be widespread in our country. 3.Therer are some defects of the hospice home care,such as allopathy full-time therapy and cure therapy,we should take some measures to perfect it.
