Effects Of Candesartan Compared With Perindopril In Elderly Hypertensive Patients

Objective:To evaluate the safety and efficacy of Candesartan plus amlodipine besylate in elderly patients with Hypertension.Methods:The elderly patients with hypertension took amlodipine besylate 5mg daily alone. After two weeks'treatment,70 cases with blood pressure over 150/90mmHg were randomly divided into two groups (Candesartan group,36 cases, treated with Candesartan 8mg daily; perindopril group,34 cases, treated with perindopril 4mg daily).After 8-week treatment, ambulatory blood pressure, blood uric acid and cystatin were compared in two groups.Results:1 There were no significantly differences between the two groups in the blood pressure, serum cystatin and uric acid level and so on before treatment (P＞0.05).2 After 8 weeks treatment, the blood pressure reduced in the candesartan group and the Perindopril group. The differences were statistically significant (all P＜0.001).3.After 8 weeks treatment, SBP and DBP were decressed in the candesartan group and the Perindopril group,and the reduced of the former are hihger than the latter,the differences were statistically significant (all P＜0.05). The PP are also reduced in the two groups,there was little distinct between them (P＞0.05).4, After treatment, thefulfilled of the blood pressure in the Candesartan group and the Perindopril group are 91.66%,76.47%respectively.The difference between the two groups was statistically significant (P＜0.05).5, After 8 weeks treatment, the T/P(SBP) in the Candesartan group was higher than the Perindopril group Difference between the two groups was no statistically significant (P＜0.05). The difference of the T/P(DBP) in the groups was no statistically significant (P＞0.05).6.After 8 weeks treatment, contRAASt to the same group, the smoothness index in the two groups were incressed, the difference were significant.But the difference between the two groups was no statistically significant.7. After 8 weeks treatment, contrast to the same group, the lever of the K+were incressed,but the CYC-S and the uric acid were decressed in the two the groups, these difference were statistically significant (P＜0.05).And the difference between the two groups were significant.Conclusion:1 Candesartan combined amlodipine besylate can effectively reduce blood pressure and pulse pressure in elderly hypertensive patients, the effect stronger than Perindopril combined amlodipine.2.By Candesartan combined amlodipine besylate, the smoothness index can be increased,and the blood press can be declined constantly.3. Candesartan combined amlodipine besylate can effectively reduce the lever of uric acid and cystatin,and protect the kidney.4. The side effect in the Candesartan was little,and have good patience. besylate the incress the smoothness. The combination can lower blood which means probably to protect kidney function. Candesartan combined amlodipine besylate is to optimize the joint step-down program.
