Objective To investigate the resistance of Acinetobacter baumannii and genotype of carbapenemase in imipenem resistant strains. Methods:The identification of Acinetobacter baumannii and antibiotic susceptibility testing were carried out using the MicroScan WalkAway 40 system. The OXA-23 gene were amplified by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) in imipenem-resistant strains.Results:1.Of the 37 Acinetobacter baumannii strains,89.1%(33/37)were multiresis-tant strains and 27.03%(10/37) were panresistant strains.2.The resistant rates of 37 Acinetobacter baumannii strains to 20 antimi-crobial agents were morn than 50% and the resistant rate to imipenem were 44.4%(16/37).3. OXA-23 gene were detected in 16 imipenem-resistant strains resistance by PCR and confirmed by sequencing analysis.Conclusion:1. Clinical isolates of Acinetobacter baumannii in this study has shown multiresistant, even panresistant strains.2. bla-oxA23 gene is the major mechanism of Acinetobacter baumannii to imipenem resistance and other resistant mechanisms also existence. |
