| ObjectiveBy the clinical use of Wumeitang to treat the cold and heat mixed typ e BRG, to observe the curative effect, to fight further to explore the TCM p athogenesis theory and dialectical law of BRG, and the prescriptions theor y of Wumeitang, seek to search a better dialectical law and get an optima 1 TCM prescriptions in the treatment of BRG.Methods66 cold and heat mixed type BRG patients, age from 18 to 60, from Diges tive out-patient clinic of Guangdong Hospital of TCM, who fulfilled both w estern diagnostic criteria and the diagnostic criteria of TCM's cold and heat mixed type were enrolled into study and randomly allocated to either treatment group or control group,33 each. Patients in treatment group t ook medicinal broth of wumeitang (prescription includes Ebony, Cork, Copt is, Asarum, Guizhi, Angelica, Codonopsis, Pepper, Ginger, cooked Aconite,) for 4 weeks, while patients in control group took Hydrotalcite and Mosapr ide for 4 weeks. Symptoms scores that before treatment, after 2 weeks and 4 weeks'treatment were recorded. Elimination criteria includes:(1) Pati ents disobeyed the treatment. (2)Suffered form chordapsus or other di-gest ive diseases for dietary reason during the period of treatment that would affect the study results. (3)Took other medicine during the period of tr eatment that would affect the results. Patients met either one of the thre e would be eliminated from the study. Symptoms scores included the four pa rameters of severity and frequency of abdominal pain, severity and frequen cy of the abdominal distension, severity and frequency of nausea, and seve rity and frequency of vomiting bile. Every symptom was scored from 0 to 3 according to the severity. Symptoms scores were the summation of each sc ore of the four parameters. Symptoms scores were entered into computer an d analyzed in statistics by SPSS13.0 to evaluate the curative effect. Eva luation criteria of curative effect:(1)Clinical recovery:symptoms disap peared or symptoms scores decreased≥90%; (2)Mar-kedly effective:symptom s obvious relieved and symptoms scores decreased≥70%; (3)Effective:symp toms moderate relieved and symptoms scores decre-ased≥30%; (4)Ineffectiv e:symptoms did not relieve or even aggravated, s-ymptoms scores decreased <30%.Results33 patients in treatment group:13 males and 20 females, average age was (32.73±6.53) years old, average course of disease was (2.41±1.36) y-ears, symptoms scores before treatment was (13.83±1.94). Also 33 patient s in control group:12 males and 21 females, average age was (30.42±7.28) years old, average course of disease was (2.32±1.35) years, symptoms sco-res before treatment was (14.01±2.01). There were no significant differen-ces between the two groups in sex ratio, average age and course (P>0.05). And before treatment, there were no significant differences in symptoms scores between (P>0.05). So the two groups were comparable. After treatm-ent, symptoms scores decreased obviously in both. Symptoms scores decrea-sed to (9.50±1.27) in treatment group after 2 weeks'treatment, while to (9.50±1.35) in control group. And decreased to (5.01±1.41) in treatment group after 4 weeks'treatment, while to (5.12±1.54) in control group. There were not significant differences between (P>0.05). The total effect ive rate was 87.5%in treatment group, and 83.3%in control group after 2 weeks'treatment, while 93.8%and 93.3%after 4 weeks'treatment. The d-efferences were not significant between (P>0.05). Symptoms scores decrea sed obviously in both after 2 and 4 weeks'treatment(P<0.05). No adverse reaction was refered during the treatment in both treatment group and con trol group. ConclusionBoth modified wumeitang and Hydrotalcite+Mosapride are proved to be ef fective and safe for cold and heat mixed type BRG patients, and two are eq-uivalent. Comparative efficacy between them has significant difference. Both clinical for the treatment of bile reflux gastritis were treated to obtain good results. |
