Faeces Trogopterori is the arid excrement and urine of Trogopterus xanthipes Milne-Edwards, which has the effectiveness of promoting blood flow and alleviating pain, by its sweety, thermal and the liver meridian nature. Its indication is sluggish of blood, suppression of menses, abdominal pain, costa sternales pain, surgical trauma pain, worm or snake bite and so on. Faeces Trogopterori is extensively used in gynecological disease, cardiovascular disease and Disease of digestive system etc. otherwise, it is also used in manufacture of medicated wine and perfume. However Faeces Trogopterori investigative progression is far fall behind the other traditional Chinese medicine, because it is excrement and urine. And the study on chemical constituents and quality control is few paid close attention, by its research was focus on pharmaco-activity up to date. For this reason, this thesis included the finding of penetrating research on chemical constituents and quality control to provide the basis for depth exploitation of Faeces Trogopterori. The systematic investigation has been done on chemical constituents of Faeces Trogopterori. Extract the extractum of Faeces Trogopterori by petroleum ether, ethyl acrylate and n-buthanol in turn to divide to tree parts by its different polarity. The composition of petroleum ether part was analysis and identified by GC/MS and the relative content of composition was calculated by area normalization method.21 components were identified, Hentetracontan-1-ol(21.72%), Sclareol(14.08%) and n-Hexadecanoic acid(9.11%) were the main chemical compositions of the petroleum ether extract, and the content of Alcohol components was more than 40% in total. The composition of ethyl acrylate part was isolated and purified by silica gel chromatography and analysis and identified by NRM and MS. There were four chemical compounds was analysis and identified from ethyl acrylate part. They were sitostanol,β-sitosterin, protocatechuic acid and daucosterol.According to records and reports, protocatechuic acid was the reactive composition. So a method was developed for the quantitative determination of protocatechuic acid in Trogopterus xanthippes Milne-Edwards by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). The analyst was determined by HPLC with a Hypersil GOLD C18 column and a mobile phase of menthol, 1% acetic acid-water(5:95), at a flow rate of 1 mL·min-1. The UV detection wave length was 260 nm. The contents of protocatechuic acid in Faeces Trogopterori were determined by this method, which were purchased from 12 different place of production. The results show that the range was from 0.02%o to 0.6%o.According to records and reports, ethyl acrylate part was the most activity part. So the finger printing analysis method was established by high performance liquid chromatography for the part of ethyl acrylate in Faeces Trogopterori. The analyst was determined by HPLC with a Hypersil GOLD C18 column and a mobile phase of menthol, 1% acetic acid-water. Gradient elution process:0-15 min (A from 5% to 30%); 15-40 min (A from 30% to 50%); 40-80 min (A from 50% to 75%); 80-90 min (A from 75% to 100%); 90-100min (A 100%); at a flow rate of 1 mL·min-1. The UV detection wave length was 260 nm. The analyses of ethyl acrylate part in Faeces Trogopterori have been made from 14 batches of different source by this method, and 13 owned by both peaks were selected. The results revealed that the resemblances were exceeded 0.9 in 12 batches of medical material, and 2 batches medical material of the resemblances were below the standard. So we could analysis and contrast the quality control of medical material. The main composition of volatile oil in Faeces Trogopterori and Cacumen Platycladi were analysis and identified by GC/MS and the relative content of composition was calculated by area normalization method. The consequences revealed that there were 9 chemical compounds have been found in both volatile oil. They are 3-carene, a-caryophyllene,β-caryophyllen, Germacrene D,α-humulene, Allo-cedrol, cedrol,α-cadinol, Podocarp-7-en-3β-ol. And there were difference relative amount of the 9 chemical compounds:the relative amount of 3-carene and cedrol were 18.55% and 20.82% in Cacumen Platycladi, and there were only 0.45% and 0.02% in Faeces Trogopterori. These results showed that 3-carene and cedrol were well ingested by Trogopterus xanthipes Milne-Edwards. But there were higher relative amounts ofα-caryophyllene,β-caryophyllen and Podocarp-7-en-3β-ol in Faeces Trogopterori. These said that the 3 chemical compounds were enriched by worse ingestion. Above all, the results built up numerical data for the research of mutual relationship between zoology and botanic.
