AIDS has been widely distributed in more than 200 countries on five continents and regions, there is still no drug can cure and no effective vaccine. Nowadays the most effective vaccine is prevention, AIDS prevention is the responsibility of each citizen. The report by the end of 2007 shows us that new HIV infections in the age of 15 to 24 years old in the worldwide accounted for 40%. We should pay attention to the impact of AIDS on young people. The core of health education on AIDS prevention is to promote health. It is very necessary to carry out health education in plans to develop students'awareness of health and public health in school. To equip students with necessary health knowledge and skills to make them consciously accept more useful way to health in behavior and lifestyle that can lay a solid foundation of healthy in their whole life.To learn status of health education on AIDS at the secondary schools in Shanghai, in order to provide suggestions for strengthen school health education on AIDS to enhance students'level of knowledge and to form good habits and to promote the healthy growth of students and the harmonious development of society. 537 students from three junior and four senior high schools in Shanghai were selected for random and 25 teachers in relevant subjects have been investigated. To know the status of students master the AIDS-related knowledge and the teaching methods have been used in education and the students'and teachers'attitude on AIDS / HIV. Through the investigation we found that the health education on AIDS in Shanghai secondary schools lack of understanding; schools lack of teaching materials and teachers; the singleness of the teaching form; the AIDS knowledge of students has some defects. The author compared the experience of foreign countries and put forward several proposals to strengthen Shanghai secondary school health education on AIDS prevention such as to raise the awareness of educators; to strengthen the teacher training; to strengthen the research of teaching on AIDS; to establish the system of school health education teaching and research; to carry out the education in multi-level & multi-channel; to develop the teaching resources in all-round ways; to strengthen the link of social, school and family etc.
