Objective:To detect the different expressions of vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) and androgen receptor(AR) in Nonneoplastic Epithelial Disorders of Vulvar(NNEDV) tissue before and after treated by high-intensity focused ultrasound(HIFU),so that to investigate the mechanism of high-intensity focused ultrasound in managing nonneoplastic epithelial disorders of vulvar.Methods:Adopt imunohistochemistry of SP to detect the different expressions of VEGF and AR in NNEDV tissue before and after treated by HIFU,and compare the pathobiological turnovers by light microscope.Results:1.Expression of VEGF:The results of imunohistochemistry show that expressions of VEGF in the lesion tissue group is significantly stronger than that in the normal tissue group(P<0.01),but there is no statistical difference between the two pathological types(P>0.05).The 1 month after treatment group has the strongest expression of VEGF,and there are significant differences compared with pretherapy group,3 months after treatment group and normal tissue group(P<0.01).Furthermore,3 months after treatment group is significantly stronger than normal tissue group(P<0.05),while a little weaker than pretherapy group with no statistical difference(P>0.05).2.Expression of AR:The results of imunohistochemistry show that expressions of AR in lesion tissue group and normal tissue group are negative or very weak.The expression in 1 month after treatment group is significantly stronger that in pretherapy group and post-treatment group(P<0.01).But there are no statistical differences between lesion tissue group and normal tissue group or between the different pathological types(P<0.05).Besides the expressions of AR in 1 month after treatment group, normal tissue group and pretherapy group have no significant differences(P>0.05).3.The pathobiological turnover after treated by HIFU:Pretherapy,the epiderm tissues have different extent of hyperplasy or atrophia with hyperkeratosis,a large amount of inflammatory cell infiltration and reduction or disappearance of microvessel.While 1-3 months after treatment, the constitution of epiderm tissues turned normal gradually:cells line up in order,the infiltrative inflammatory cells become fewer and capillary vessel account become more.Conclusions:1.The NNEDV tissue gradually turned normal after treated by HIFU, which indicates HIFU is effective in healing NNEDV.2.After treated by HIFU,the expression of VEGF in NNEDV tissue basal layer become stronger,and this maybe the one of mechanism of HIFU in healing NEDVV.3.After treated by HIFU,the expression of VEGF in NNEDV tissue become stronger in a short time while decreased later period,which indicates that HIFU can effect the expression of VEGF by biological effect of ultrasound,and this maybe the major one mechanisms of HIFU in healing NEDVV.
