Objective:To evaluate therapeutic effects of focused ultrasound (FU) and Halcinonide cream in treatment of nonneoplastic epithelial disorders of vulva. Methods:One hundred and nineteen patients suffered with nonneoplastic epithelial disorders of vulva which confirmed by clinic features and pathology in our hospital were collected and randomly divided into two groups. Among 119 cases,78 patients were included in study group (FU group) and received FU treatment, and the rest of 41 patients were treated with Halcinonide cream and served as control group. The protocol of FU treatment was continuous line scanning and irradiation for 20-40 min per patient, the output power of FU was 3.0-4.0 W. On the other hand, Halcinonide cream was applied two times every day in control group continuously for three months. The therapeutic effects between two groups were observed and evaluated 3 months after treatment. Results:Clinical cure rate, efficiency, total efficiency was 23.08%,69.23% and 92.31% respectively in FU group, with no significant difference exist among different pathological types and ages (P>0.05), while significant difference can be found among different course of disease (P<0.05). In control group, clinical cure rate, efficiency, total efficiency was 4.88%,60.98% and 65.85% respectively. The total effective rate in FU group (92.31%) was significantly higher than that in control group (65.85%) (P<0.05).Conclusion:Focused ultrasound demonstrates more reliable and convincible therapeutic effects for patients suffered with nonneoplastic epithelial disorders of vulva when compared with Halcinonide cream.
