Objective:To investigate the feasibility, safety and effectiveness of mesh in the treatment of female pelvic reconstruction .Methods:A retrospective analysis was carried out on 60 patients with pelvic organ prolapse, who were underwent the operation for pelvice organ prolapse with mesh. All the patients were admitted by the Dalian Gyne- cology and Obstetrics Hospital from 2007.9 to 2009.2.Mesh was used for pelvic floor reconstruction in the operation. The average age was 60.9(32~83)years.The patients with the uterine prolapse were 44 cases, among these cases, with the anterior and posterior vaginal wall prolapse were 27 cases, with the anterior vaginal wall prolapse were 16 cases . The anterior and posterior vaginal wall prolapse were 7 cases;8 cases with the anterior vaginal wall prolapse;1 cases with the posterior vaginal wall prolapse;SUI 15 cases.Total pelvic floor reconstruction were 14 cases, among them performed vaginal hysterectomy 6 cases,8 patient was con- served uterus and 6 cases performed SUI surgery,3 patient had done hyste- rectomy;21 cases performed vaginal hysterectomy with repair anterior and/or posterior vaginal wall, all repaired anterior vaginal wall with mesh,1 cases repaired posterior vaginal wall with mesh, 3 cases performed vaginal bridge operation; 8 cases repaired anterior vaginal wall with mesh,1 cases repaired posterior vaginal wall with mesh;6 cases performed TVT-O and 1 cases repaired anterior vaginal wall with mesh;3 cases repaired anterior vaginal wall with mesh,1 case performed Manchester operation;1 cases repaired posterior vaginal wall with mesh. Results:The mean operation time was (87.6±42.1) min .The mean hemorrage was(145.5±105.6)ml.All the patients were well-being after op- eration. The mean time stay after operation was(8.3±2.4)d.The mean period of follow-up after operation was 10 month(2~19months),The erosion had happened in 2 cases, and it incidence was3.3%.3 cases recurrence was found in the study. Conclusions:The application of mesh in female pelvic reconstruction surgery was easy and simple.Patient tolerence was wel1.Mesh erosion is a common complication, which should be noticed .However, the long term outcome of Mesh in pelvic floor reconstruction needs further study. |
