Tuberculosis (TB) is one of old, epidemic globally infectious diseases. Thus far, it is still the threat to people's health as an important public health problem. China is among twenty-two high TB burden countries in the world. In recent years, after the implementation of DOTS, the job of TB prevention and cure in China makes great progress. However, with the change of medical model, the spread of tuberculosis and the increase in the number of tuberculosis patients, concerned about the life quality of tuberculosis patients and improve the life satisfaction has become an inevitable demand for the "people-oriented" concept of scientific outlook on development andbuilding the harmonious society.In order to understand the life satisfaction of tuberculosis patients and influencing factors, to analyze the effect of various factors in the life satisfaction of tuberculosis patients, we surveyed the tuberculosis patients in the six counties in Shandong Province. So we can provide a scientific basis to develop the life satisfaction of tuberculosis patients and improve their life quality, thereby we can improve the treatment compliance of patients.The specific objectives of this study are as follows:1. To understand the basic characteristic and the family economic situation of tuberculosis patients in different areas.2. To analyze the effect on the life satisfaction of tuberculosis patients with different demographic characteristics, health state, psychological state, and so on.3. To analyze the effect on the life satisfaction of tuberculosis patients with different family size, economic conditions, family support, and so on. 4. To analyze the effect on the life satisfaction of tuberculosis patients with different supervision and management from doctors, and the provision of related services.5. To provide policy advice based on the results above.The method of stratified-cluster-random sampling was used in this study, and six counties, thirty-six towns were taken out. Descriptive analysis of the demographic characteristics, treatment state, family economic status, self-perceived health and life satisfaction of different regions' tuberculosis patients were made. Based on the professional knowledge, single factor analysis and ordinal regression analysis were used to explore the influencing factors of the life satisfaction. In order to verify the correlation between subjective well-being and life satisfaction, we used the non-linear canonical correlation analysis.Main results: 1. Among the 819 tuberculosis patients, 14.41 percent were "very satisfied", 42.00 percent were "more satisfied", 35.78 percent were "just in general", 7.81 percent were "not satisfied with life". 2. The household income was lower among the tuberculosis patients. The annual household income was 8561 yuan. Annual per capita income was 2703 yuan. And the annual expenditure of family medical care was 4461 yuan. 3. The life satisfaction and influencing factors of tuberculosis patients:â‘ The result made by single factor analysis: Low age group, the patients of "vocational or technical" education level, workers, self-perceived health be well, not hospitalized over the past year, good sense of subjective well-being, little worry about the illness, without anxiety, self-contempt and feeling of being isolated, the better family economic condition, the family support / encourage the treatment, rural doctors visit, be satisfied with the services provided by doctors, the life satisfaction of these tuberculosis patients was better.â‘¡The result made by non-linear canonical correlation analysis: There was high correlation between subjective well-being and life satisfaction.â‘¢Ordinal regression analysis showed that the influencing factors of life satisfaction of tuberculosis patients were area, age, self-perceived health, subjective well-being, the attitude and behavior of the family, the supervision of rural doctors.Conclusions and suggestions: 1. To reduce the burden of medical expenses and ensure the effective enjoyment of tuberculosis patients for free examination and treatment. 2. To concern about the life quality of elderly tuberculosis patients and enhance their life satisfaction. 3. To create a good family atmosphere, to improve the subjective well-being and life satisfaction of patients. 4. Play the role of doctors fully in the supervision and management to improve the treatment compliance of tuberculosis patients. 5. To strengthen the TB-related health education and popularize the knowledge about prevention and treatment of TB.
