The Study Of Fecal Latoferrin In Differential Diagnosis Of Inflammatory Bowel Disease

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES:Discussion the value of fecal lactoferrin(FLA)in the diagnosis of inflammatory bowel disease(IBD);study the relevance between the level of FLA and IBD activity.METHODS:Collect 23 patients which all were confirmed by clinical manifestation,colonoscopy,histology in Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital,Zhejiang University of subsidiary between november 2007 and July 2008,Including:10 Crohn's disease(CD)patients,13 ulcerative colitis(UC)patients,as IBD group;15 healthy persons whose colonoscopy performance all were normal,as normal control group.Determine the FLA level with ELISA,and ESR,CRP,PLT in our hospital laboratory in both groups above:First,comparing the diffenence of FLA level between IBD group and normal control group;second,assessment the relevance in IBD activity between FLA level,serum marks(ESR,CRP,PLT)and colonoscopy classification.RESULTS:there are obvious differences in FLA level between IBD group and normal control group;there are obvious differences in FLA level between active IBD and remission of IBD,and FLA level has obvious positive correlation with IBD activity.At the same time,FLA level has higher consistency with colonoscopy performance,but, there is no obvious relevance in serum marks(ESR,CRP,PLT).CONCLUSIONS:FLA is a better Inspection means in IBD's diagnosis;FLA level in IBD has obvious positive correlation with IBD activity,and has higher consistency with colonoscopy,FLA has more Advantages than serum marks(ESR,CRP,PLT)in assessing IBD activity.
