Objective:To study the factors affecting the long term prognosis of patients with myasthenia gravis (MG) after thymectomy. Methods : 36 MG patients who had undergone thymectomies were studied bio-spectively . The logistic regression analysis model was used to analyze the factors that may influence the long term prognosis. The se- factors included patient gender ,age, duration of disease at the time of surgery , preoperative Osserman classification, incision approach, the scope of thymectomy, operation time, the volume of blood lost and. thymus pathology. Results: According to the Mondens standard the overall effective rate of thymectomy was 91.7%.The remission rate was 16.7% (6/36),the improvement rate was 75.0%(27/36),no change and deterioration was seen in 3 patients(8.3%).The research showed that the scope of thymectomy , the volume of blood lost and. thymus pathology was the independent factor that affected the postoperative long term prognosis .Conclusion :An efective method to treat MG,thymectomy should be performed on most of the MG patients actively and thoroughly.
