Clinical Observation About The Recurrence Of Adjacent Vertebral Body After The Vertebral Augmentation Surgery On Thoracolumbar OVCF

Objective To investigate the effects of volume,the degree of reduction, different kinds of operations about vertebral augmentation and different TCM ZHENGXING in vertebral augmentation include the PVP and PKP on the recurrence of adjacent intervertebral bodies fracture about thorcalumber OVCF patients. Methods This research select 103 patients,117 vertebral bodies,all these people were diagnosed OVCF in our section during the 2006 to 2008.All these fracture happened in thorcalumber zone.And all these people were given TCM treatments according different TCM syndrome,all these patients were given vertebral augmentation,in this research,we injected bone cement to vertebral body.We follow these people to confirm the number of them who have the recurrence of adjacent vertebral body after the operation.In this study, we survey the volume,the degree of reduction(by measure Cobb angle), different kind of operation and different TCM ZHENGXING to find the relationship between these factors with the adjacent vertebral body.Results The study suggested that the recurrence of adjacent intervertebral bodies fracture were influenced by the degree of reduction.Conclusions After the vertebral augmentation,the good reduction can reduce the stress of adjacent vertebral bodies.To avoid the recurrence of adjacent intervertebral bodies fracture we should try our best to have a good reduction during the operation.
