The Relationship Between Insertion/Deletion Polymorphism Of Angiotensin-Converting Enzyme Gene And Cerebrovasular Diseases Of Bai Nationality

Objective To study the relationship between the insertion/deletion(I/D) polymorphism of angiotension-convertion enzyme(ACE) gene and cerebrovasular diseases of Bai Nationality in Dali District of Yunnan Province.Methods I/D polymorphism of ACE gene was analysed in 73 patients with cerebrovasular diseases of Bai Nationality(40 patients with cerebral infarction and 33 patients with intracerebral hemorrhage) and 43 healthy controls which were matched sex and age by Polymerase chain reaction-restricted fragments length polymorphism(PCR-RFLP)analysed,Detect single nucleotide ploymorphism of some ACE gene by the fluorescent labeling automatic two directional sequencing method.Results(1)The frequencies of DD genotype and D alleles in cerebral infarction group was obviously higher than those in control group(P＜0.05),There was no significant difference between men with women in cerebral infarction group(P＞0.05).(2)The frequencies of DD genotype and D alleles in cerebral hemorrhage group and those with hypertension and those without hypertention was not higher than those in control group(P＞0.05).(3) Obviously differences between the frequencies of DD genotype of patients with cerebrovasular diseases and those of healthy controls are not discovered,comparing the patients complicated with cerebrovasular diseases and those without hypertention,patients with diabetes and those without diabetes,patients with hyperlipemia and those with ortholiposis within the group.(4) There was no significant difference between the lengths of D and I alleles and their necleotide sequences with the results of foreign countries.Conclusions There is some relevance between I/D polymorphism of ACE gene and cerebral infarction.The I/D polymorphism of ACE gene maybe a risk factor of brain infarction.There is no relevance between I/D polymorphism of ACE gene and cerebral hemorrhage,weather having hypertention or not.The relative dangerous factors of cerebrovasular diseases such as:hypertention,diabetes,blood lipids are no relation with brain infarction.A 287bp insertion segment results in the I/D polymorphism of ACE gene.
