With the hastened global economic integration and intensified market competition, there will be closer global economic link and more complex business environment. In order to reduce the uncertainty of demand and supply and acquire the advantages in competition, the core has been the competition of supply chain management. The competition among enterprises has been superseded by the competition among supply chains. With the intensive study of supply chain management, the value-added purchasing won the approval. As an important link of demand and supply, purchasing runs through the whole supply chain. The purchasing management in terms of supply chain can reduce the cost and play an important role in the synchronization and integration of the enterprises, which strengthens the competitive power of the enterprises.This paper, with the thesis of purchasing management, analyses the situation of F Hospital which is the largest general hospital of this province. According to the theory of supply chain and the current situation of F Hospital's purchasing management, it provides two strategies to improve the purchasing management: to enhance the management and cooperation with the suppliers and to optimize the purchasing process. It makes an exposition of the theory, methods and procedure of the two strategies and provides the optimized process as well. With the increasingly intensive competition, the improvement of management will be the key point of hospital's core competitiveness although there is a disparity between public institutions and enterprises. It is hoped that these methods could be useful guidance for those enterprises which bring in purchasing management under supply chain, guaranteeing the smooth operation of supply chain.
