The proposal of the quality of life doctrine is to provide a reliable and reasonable basic theory for the medical treatment decision-making. These decisions often focus on the allocation of health resources, in particular the allocation of scarce resources, health care programs, as well as the preferred treatment for patients with end of life issues. For these issues, the sanctity of life doctrine, the value of life and quality of life doctrine holds different ideas and perspectives. This article holds that the sanctity of life doctrine and the value of life doctrine can not to digest both the theory because of its defects , so they can not be the choice for medical ethics provide the theoretical basis. The sacred theory inherited the life of Hippocratic tradition, that "whenever life should be treated" and therefore nothing for the crisis of modern medical theory and the loss of tension. On the value of life doctrine from an axiological point of view, more emphasis on the lives of others and social usefulness. Based on this view, we can as the elderly or newborns in the lowest value of life and dispose of their state, which is obviously contrary to our moral intuitions. The quality of life doctrine justify its legitimacy with the utilitarian view of the "maximize happiness" and "minimize harm" . It claims to any medical research and medical treatment should be based on the application of rational evaluation of the quality of life as the standard. However, this paper argues that deficiencies of the quality of life doctrine of still exist. In this paper, the quality of life through an analysis of the theoretical defects, quality of life that the tension of the theory of modern medicine is that it is consistent with the purpose of an objective medical guidance towards the development of a higher quality of human life, and the greatest degree of ease of public health care crisis. This is undoubtedly beneficial to the individual and the community to enhance the overall well-being. However, this rational argument to ignore the harsh lives of self-respect, leading to the individual good and public good, as well as the moral conflict between the principle of independence and thequality of life doctrine, and thus lead to "death from the obligation to have the right to die slippery slope ". To save the quality of life doctrine, this article analyzes deficiencies of quality of life doctrine, and then, amend the quality of life doctrine, proposes the limited quality of life doctrine. In this paper, based on utilitarian and moral theory of "good" moral requirements and ethical principles of life that Beauchamp and Childress proposesed , demonstrates the limited quality of life is reasonable, that if the quality of life on the limited basis of respect for the autonomy of on which it can not only lead to resolving the moral conflict, but also take into account the quality of life of the social significance of the positive.
