| Objective Using structural equation model to analyze influences of mental health status among medical college students and the relationship between latent variables;discussing the acceptance of this method in researching psychology of medical students. In this way we hope to provide available information for relative departments in university to improve their students' psychology health.Methods Choosing 818 students in a medical university with strata cluster sampling and carrying out a questionnaire survey. Firstly we explain the common psychology of these students with describing method and establish model with confirmative factor analysis method latter.Results 21.3% of students have psychological problem. Their most common symptom is F2, the least is F7. Insomnia, emotion communication, living pressure, life orderliness, family harmony, class and satisfaction of living environment is considered in multiple-regression model. Then constructing structure equation is based on factor analysis. From result of the model, we can understand that the highest regression coefficient in psychology index is F2, F3, F4, F-5 and F9.Their regression coefficients are 0.91, 0.88, 0.87, 0.87,0.86 respectively. The 5 indexes can explain psychology commendably. Factor 2 has the strongest influence with psychology and its effect coefficient is 0.301. The second one is factor 6, coefficient is 0.253.The third one is factor 3, coefficient is 0.165. The P value of the 3 factors is less than 0.05 by hypothesis test. The result is same to regression analysis.Conclusion Though the psychology of medical student gets better, the situation now is not very well. They have different degree of psychological problems. Relative educators should pay heed to the issue. At the same time we should consider some factors when carrying out program that solve psychological problem of medical student. In this way we can make them become a population with high quality and education level.
