Objective: To investigate the characteristics of Event-related Potential P300 and the correlation of cognitive disorder with it in Cerebral Infarction combined with Leukoaraiosis Patients. Methods: From August 2007 to August 2008, in Deparment of neurology of Shihezi People's Hospital. The 107 Patients of Cerebral Infarction combined with Leukoaraiosis(37 light-degrees LA, 38 middle-degrees LA, 32 serious-degrees LA), 50 Patients of simple Cerebral Infarction and 32 cases of control were examined with P300 and MMSE. Results: Compared with controls, MMSE scales(P<0.01) and wave amplitude of P300(P <0.01) in Cerebral Infarction combined with Leukoaraiosis Patients were both lower, while P300 latency phase were lengthened(P <0.01), MMSE scales(P<0.05) and wave amplitude of P300(but P>0.05) were both lower in simple Cerebral Infarction, while P300 latency phase were lengthened(P<0.01). MMSE scales(P<0.05) and wave amplitude of P300(but P>0.05) were both lower, while P300 latency phase were lengthened(P<0.01) in Cerebral Infarction combined with Leukoaraiosis Patients compared with simple Cerebral Infarction. Compared with light-degrees LA, middle-degrees LA and serious-degrees LA, P300 latency phase were lengthened(P<0.01), MMSE scales were lower(P<0.01), but wave amplitude of P300 were lower compared with light-degrees LA and serious-degrees LA. The correlation between latency phase of P300 and MMSE scales were negtive(pz:r=-0.4072, cz:r=-0.4137,P<0.01)in Cerebral Infarction combined with Leukoaraiosis Patients. There were no statistically significant correlation between wave amplitude of P300 and MMSE scales. Conclusion: P300 latency phase could reflects objectively the cognitive function of Cerebral Infarction combined with Leukoaraiosis Patients.
